Wer mich ein bisschen kennt, weiß, dass ich ohne eine Sekunde Zögern „Japan“ rufen würde, wenn mich jemand nach meinem Lieblingsland auf der Welt fragen tun täte. Zumindest meistens. Eine Sache, die ich an Japan sehr mag, ist die Verspieltheit und die Tatsache, dass ständig überall Comicfiguren oder ähnlich kindliche Dinge vorkommen. So wie dieses kleine Flugzeug, das auf einem Briefkasten in der Abflughalle des Tokioter Flughafens Haneda gelandet ist. Anders als andere Briefkästen in Japan ist dieser sogar noch mit einem speziellen „Haneda“ Schriftzug und einem kleinen Flugzeugaufkleber verziert. Liebe zum Detail, kann ich da nur sagen. Dass der Briefkasten natürlich top in Schuss und ohne irgendeine Macke oder Flecken ist, muss ich wohl nicht erwähnen.

Those who know me a bit know what a big fan of Japan I am. I would immediately apply for citizenship in this most organized, neat and well-run country (well, except for when nuclear power stations explode). One thing I like is the playfulness and the cartoon characters and the like you see all over the place. Like this little plastic aeroplane which has apparently just landed on the letterbox in Tokyo´s Haneda Airport, main departure hall. Other than most letterboxes in Japan, this one is wearing special „Haneda“ titles and a little aeroplane sticker. Very very sweet. Makes me want to go back immediately. And of course, no need to mention it, this letterbox comes without any stains or scratches.
