In diese Stadt wollte ich immer gerne mal, in erster Linie des schönen Namens wegen. Nun, ohne Mandalay jetzt allzu sehr Unrecht zu tun, der Name ist wirklich das Schönste an dieser ansonsten ziemlich unspektakulären Stadt. Paar Pagoden hier, ein klotziger Palast in der Mitte. So ist es im Leben, manchmal wird man seiner Illusionen auch ein bisschen beraubt. Einen schönen Briefkasten gab es immerhin und da mir ein Briefkastengroupie neulich sagte: „Hey, zeig doch auch mal das Umfeld der Briefkästen!“, will ich das hiermit mal tun.

I came to Mandalay mostly because of the city´s beautiful name. Well, if I am honest, the name is really the prettiest thing about this Burmese city. A couple of pagodas, a gigantic but unspectacular palace in the middle of town, other than that it is all very unspectacular. Such is life, sometimes you are disillusioned. At least there was a nice letterbox and as a letterbox groupie recently asked me to also show the environment of the letterboxes a bit more often, well here we go!
